Intro:
AutoTarget
is a WoW add-on for automatically selecting the first target that
you mouseoverm that matches your targeting configuration. I got
frustrated with not being able to find a specified target, missing a
click on a moving target and having trouble selecting the desired
target out of a group. With this addon, you just set up your
targetting configuration pass your mouse over potential targets.
The first match found will be selected as your current target.
Installing:
Just
unzip AutoTarget into your "World
of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns" folder. You can create the
sub-folders if they don't already exist.
Configuration:
Enter
the command '/at
config' to bring up the configuration window (or use
the key binding). Check the On button
to enable targeting and select the desired categories for targeting.
Note that a target must match at least one of the checkable
attributes to be selected. If it also has an attribute that is
not selected, it will not be targetted! Only the checkable
attributes will be saved on logout.
If one or more names are
specified, at least one name must match. Lowercase and partial
names are fine. Lua string matching templates can also be used.
Use:
When
AutoTarget is turned on (use '/at'
or key binding to toggle), it will check each potential target that
your mouse passes over. If you currently don't have a living
selected target, it will target the first match that it finds. A
'click' sound will be made when a target is selected. To clear a
selected target, either use the Escape
key or the Clear Target key binding.
Key
Bindings:
To save typing, the '/at'
and the '/at
config' commands can be bound to a key in the Key
Bindings window, which is selected from the Main
Menu.
Debug
mode:
If you aren't selecting the expected targets, enter
the command '/at
debug' to toggle debug tracing. When debug is on,
AutoTarget will display each unselected target's name and why
it was skipped in the current chat window. Only the first attribute
that doesn't match will be displayed.
